Rotary Club of North Fulton applied for a competitive grant to promote peace in the North Fulton Community. This led to the installation of three Peace Poles in the area, as well as the refurbishing of a Peace Pole originally installed in 2013. The planning for this project began in August and working closing with Alpharetta Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, implemented a plan to beautify our Peace Garden at North Park with new plantings, as well as installing a new Peace Pole. This culminated in two Saturdays enhancing the club’s Peace Garden at North Park. Originally created in 2013, the garden features a wooden peace pole with the message ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ in the six most used languages. This peace pole was in desperate need of repair and one of our talented members, Andy West, spent several weeks restoring it to its original glory. The new Peace Pole was added to the front entrance of the Peace Garden, to draw visitors into the area.
In December 2025, members installed a Peace Pole at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital, as well as a bench to allow hospital visitors to pause for a moment of peace and reflection.
And in March 2026, in conjunction with the Alpharetta Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, and the Alpha Loop Foundation, we added a Peace Pole to the Alpha Loop. The Alpha Loop has hundreds of visitors per day, so the message of peace and tranquility can be shared easily in this location.
